Inzain Mallorca Camp Easter 2023

INZAIN invites you to a magical Easter in Mallorca

Easter is an ideal time to cycle in Mallorca. Warm but not hot, fantastic roads and easy to mix flat tours with serious slopes. We live in Alaró in our own mansion of 1,000 square meters. With pool, wine cellar, yoga room and lovely garden.

We have ready route suggestions for every day and it is fine to mix gravel with asphalt if you want. One day is important for the MA-10, the fantastic mountain road that runs along the entire east coast of Mallorca.

We dispose of the house 7-16 April and can thus use the Easter days off optimally. It is fine to come down and travel home whenever you want, but we have the same price for everyone.

We will limit the number to 20 people.

Depending on the participants, we can run different speed groups, but one thing is certain, there will be tours that suit everyone.

Here you can read a bit about our latest trip there Ride Report Inzain Gravel Mallorca Easter 2022

Gravel and tarmac

Mallorca is known to many as a cycling paradise, with nice roads, good weather and friendly people. We ourselves have been there many times and cycled by road, but what not as many people know is that the island is also fantastic for gravel.

We have been there and drawn up nice tours and got a feel for the gravel, established contact with guides, bike rental companies and not least found fantastic accommodation for several years. We were looking for a place that is centrally located so that both the plateau and the mountains can be reached without monotonous transport cycling. A home that is personal and that offers natural opportunities for socializing, just as much or as little as everyone wants. Hotels can easily become rather impersonal and not always so pleasant. Now, almost five years on, we have found the right one.

A short film from a trip on the island.

The roads are varied, most of them are nice gravel, but short sections can be a little tougher. This year's planned tours are based on what we have cycled before, but with a lot of new features. If you want to drive your own tour, you can choose from our solid route library, both for gravel and asphalt.

Alaró & Can Fressa

We live centrally in Alaró, a prosperous typical Mallorcan village. No tourist shops as far as the eye can see. We have the village square and meeting point within 50 meters with many restaurants, bars and cafes. If you want fresh bread in the morning, you pop down to the bakery, which is also located by the square, and there are several grocery stores within walking distance.

Alaró is ideally located for cycling, at the foot of Orientbacken. It is close to all mountains and plains. In addition, the Gravel routes basically start outside the gate.

Can Fressa is a private Mansion that is divided into a number of apartments spread over three floors. There is a fantastic garden with a pool and many patios and balconies. There are several grills and the house has its own wine cellar(!), where we will have wine tasting with Tapas. New for this year is that we have access to an even bigger kitchen across the street.

A Yoga room with both mats and blocks is available and the large kitchens are fully equipped. There is a washing machine, wifi and many living areas as well as very comfortable beds. Our hostess Helga pampers us and helps with big and small things. Bed linen is changed once a week and the common areas are cleaned daily. We look after the kitchen ourselves.

Guids: Risto Aalto and Gerry Askefalk have done many trips on Gravel and asphalt. In Sweden as well as in Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Kansas and many other places. We have established cooperation with local guides and created routes that are pleasant and moderately difficult. We are on all tours. The basis of our philosophy is that it should be safe and that everyone should have fun. We never leave anyone alone and makes sure that everyone comes along, regardless of form or difficulty. If someone needs to shorten or cancel the tour, we will solve it.

The week

We share the cost of the house. Guiding and routes included. You are responsible for all food yourself. We will have the option of catering in the house, cooking ourselves and going out to eat. It is quite fun to prepare good food together. There is plenty of fridge/freezer and cooking equipment in the house. Wine can be bought directly in the house from the wine cellar said Portassa or in the local store. One of the evenings will be homemade Tapas and wine tasting with lectures.

Some tours start with us going by bus or train, we share the costs for these between those who want to join.

You choose day by day what you want to cycle. We have ready-made routes for both gravel and country roads, just choose what you like. Most of the tours will be able to be shortened and in some cases you can choose to e.g. stand over a climb if you want.

In addition to the fantastic accommodation, routes and guiding included:

  • Cleaning of common areas.
  • Change bed linen once in the period.
  • Photobomb with all our photos available after the trip

On the square, 20 meters from the house, there are restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors, bakeries and cafes. There are several shops, the nearest one a couple of hundred meters away.

Transfer

We help coordinate this to and from the Airport. Some tours require transfers that we coordinate. Cost is added.

Bike Rental

We have an agreement with a company that has really nice Gravel bikes in both titanium and carbon fiber, if you are interested in it, talk to us and we will put you in touch.

Schedule ( If you want to make your own tours, that is of course fine!)

Friday 7 April:
Arrival, Transfer to Alaró. Assemble your bike or pick up your rental bike. When everyone is checked in and ready, a slightly shorter check-out ride of around 4 miles awaits.
In the evening: After the tour, a welcome drink and information awaits before we plan for dinner.

Saturday 8 April: (The Rhino)
About 101km and 720hm starting directly from Alaró. We stop for lunch and coffee. We ride mostly on the plains with the occasional small hill to conquer. Most of it is simple, but there are a couple of more technical parts. When we ran this last time I had one of my best days on the island.

Sunday 9 April: (114km/964hm) Albufera IV
A long pan directly from the house. We come to Campanet for a coffee, We continue through the Caselle valley and cycle the trail at Puig de Sant Marti before we reach Platja de Muro, where we have lunch and enjoy the sea. The tour continues through Albufera Park. There you can choose to cycle to Sa Pobla and take the train home, the journey will then be approx. 64km. We continue and pass Muro and Santa Margalida to reach Llubi for a coffee. You can also take the train home here, the trip will then be approx. 87km. The tour continues on with a lot of fine dirt roads before we return to Alaró via Binissalem.

Monday 10 April:
Mountain! As we know, Mallorca has more to offer than gravel. Like for example. the best mountain in the world. We can offer three different lengths and degrees of difficulty, all on asphalt, choose the one that suits you. If you want to cycle Gravel instead, there are good routes to get.
One of these is a new exciting ride, which comes from B.O.C. a gravel race.
It is the shortest about 60 km and the longest 160 km. If you want to take a short trip, you can take a train to Sineu and start there, stop in Sa Pobla and take a train from there, or choose one of the routes by train. The tour takes us out to the sea, some sand and a magical forest that is like a tunnel.

Alternative 1 col de Batalla, lunch Puerto Pollenca and then home on fantastic small roads. 10 miles 1,200hm
Alternative 2 Small Mountiantour col de Soller, Deia, Valdemossa 1,600 hm 10 miles.
Alternative 3 Big Mountain tour, Transport to Andtrax, MA10 as far as possible, with destination Pollenca.

Tuesday 11 April: Resting day
Free activities, a trip to Palma is recommended either by bike, train or a combination. The beach promenade is 2 miles long and an experience in itself, maybe an ice cream and a visit to the Rapha store? Maybe rent a car, there are many options.

Anima Beach – Palma

Wednesday 12 April: Randa(95km/821hm)
We start directly from the house and roll past Ruberts, where we have a coffee. Then on through the beautiful Bonaventura valley before we round Randa. We eat lunch in Algaida. We then have about 30km left to Alaró. For those who want, you can take a bonus climb up to Randa (+12km/370hm).
PAt Night: Tapas with wine tasting at sa Portassa, the house's own wine cellar(For those who want)

Thursday 13 April: Sineu St Jordi
A tough day! (96km/1173 hm) We start by train to Sineu. (Those who want can of course cycle). We have a coffee at the nice bicycle café and then off we go. There are nice roads to Porreres and on towards Lluc Major, where we have a coffee. We wind our way towards Sant Jordi and Llevant. There awaits a nice bit of gentle singletrack with climbing and lunch on the last Mohican. We return to Alaró via the plains and Consell.

Friday 14 April: Alaro Short / Costix
We have several slightly shorter and gentler tours of around 65 km.

Saturday 15 April: Parc Llenfant
We take a bus to Arta, climb up to Parc Llevant. An absolutely fantastic trip, to the sea. Tough climb back and then kinder home via the disused railway, via Verdes. Three miles on gravel with stations and everything else left in original condition.
Here are several options to shorten. Trains from Manacor are the first but several cities with that possibility are passed. A very worthy last day, we think.

Sunday 16 April:
Departure

We pack the bikes, enjoy the sun and say goodbye to the house and our hostess.
We coordinate a joint transfer to the airport.

Gear: Ideally, you take your gravel bike with one or two pairs of wheels or your racer. Last, Gerry had the 52mm WTB Sendero and it was overkill on almost everything. Gerry will choose 40mm with a light pattern next time. Risto drove with lightly patterned Zipp Tangente Course G40 Folding all week, which worked excellently on both asphalt and gravel. Tubeless is recommended, of course, as well as a good kit with reserves on the bike, Click here for a list.

Foot pump and tools are available in the house (hex, torque wrench, etc.) or can be borrowed from us. Clothing is the norm for Swedish summer, with a vest/sleeves or windbreaker as a spare and when driving downhill if it gets cold. We will have coffee and lunch but a little extra energy is never wrong (it can also be bought at the local bike shop). If you're worried, a portable mini lock can come with you on the tours, but I've never heard of anyone losing their bike during coffee here. There is a washing machine, as well as good drying facilities.

Rent a bike: We have contacts through which you can rent really nice gravel bikes in carbon fiber or titanium!

Routes: All routes will be shared some time before departure and will also be downloadable on site.
