INZAIN invites you to a fantastic week in Tuscany
October is an ideal time to ride gravel in Tuscany. Warm, but not hot, a little less people & fantastic roads. The tour is laid out so that we stay in different hotels and have a companion car, our luggage is transported in it and if you yourself, or even a bicycle, need it, you can ride in it, the whole way or maybe a bit if you e.g. want to ride a little shorter. We will also have spare bikes, wheels and tools in case of an accident.
Food and drinks
We are all different and our needs vary, therefore we have created the event so that all breakfast is included, we eat this at the hotels. During the day, bananas, water, sports drink and energy are available at the places where we meet the escort car. You choose lunch and dinner and pay for it yourself. We will have reservations at restaurants in the evenings, but if you want to eat yourself or somewhere else, that is of course fine. We will similarly select restaurants for lunches, but if you want to eat somewhere else, go ahead.
The follow car
It is large, room for nine people, but it is not without limits, we will have spare bikes, tools, wheels and tires there. Everyone will be able to have a bag that goes in the car between our different hotels and can also be reached where we meet the car during the day. If you need something out of your bag, it's fine.
Strade Bianchi & Eorica
Ikoniska vägar är bara förnamnet. Vi kommer att cykla båda. Dag tre når vi L’eroica och längs den kommer första sträckan som brukar ingå i Strade Bianchi. Dag 4 blir det två sådana segment.
Gravel and tarmac
The routes mix gravel and asphalt with good food, wine, gelato, climbs, incredible views and coffee. There is not much to miss in Tuscany. In total, the tour will be 587 km and 9,915 hm. The distribution of gravel and asphalt is 70/30.
Guids: Risto, Carl-Johan and Gerry have done many trips on gravel and asphalt. In Sweden as well as in Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Kansas and many other places.
The week
It's a Randonne, we cycle between different cities and hotels. We have a companion car in case someone wants to cut the day short, a bike is broken or you simply want to rest. The luggage goes in the car and meets us when we arrive at the various hotels. It's not a race, but there are really tough strava segments for those who want to stretch their legs a little extra. We will take time for lunch, coffee and other things. We are here for the experience.
Schedule
Saturday 8 October
We land in Pisa, check in, assemble our bikes and do a test ride. It's a collection day so come whenever you want. We have a hotel in the center of Pisa and our van acts as a transfer. We will leave the bike bags in Pisa, ready to be used when we go back home.
Day 1 Sunday 9 October (118km/ 1,800 hm)
Vi rullar ut ur Pisa längs kanalen och sedan norr mot Santa Croce Sull’Arno där vi äter lunch. Vi följer sedan, i stora drag Tuscany Trails 2020. Vi cyklar genom skog, fält och berg. Kanske en fika i Ghizzano. Dagens etappmål, Volterra lockar med mat och välbehövlig vila. Jo, det är en liten klättring bara, innan vi är där. . Bilen kommer möta oss på strategiska ställen och finns alltid nåbar om vi behöver hjälp.
Day 2 Monday 10 October (70km/ 1,300 hm)
A little shorter today, but still a lot of height. The day begins with a serious descent followed by a tough climb on gravel. We enjoy a coffee after 30 km in Alano or Quartaia. In Gracciano we have a good lunch, maybe another Gelato? We enjoy life. Once we arrive in Siena, we have dinner and maybe even drink some wine?
Day 3 Tuesday 11 October (76km/ 1,510 hm)
Vi fortsätter söderut och kommer redan efter 8 km till L’Eroica rutten och efter 30 km når vi den första Strade Bianchi etappen. Kanske dags mäta din krafter och utmana om ett KOM/QOM? Vi når glada och kanske lite trötta dagens etappmål, San Quirico d’Orcia. God mat och en skön säng väntar.
Day 4 Wednesday 12 October (92km / 1,780 hm)
Now we turn North, we reach the first Strade Bianchi Segment already after 5km.
We have lunch in Asciano before almost immediately going on the next segment. The day continues on completely magical paths. We spend the night in Siena.
Day 5 Thursday 13 October (71km / 1,270 hm)
En café Latte och en bättre frukost, sedan mot L’Eroica igen. Vi kör den Västra delen av dess norra loop. Lunch äter vi i Castellian in Chianti, innan vi rullar de sista milen till Poggibonsi.
Day 6 Friday 14 October (88km / 1,310 hm)
Now we cycle down towards the Mediterranean Sea, this day also offers many meters of altitude. We pass the Natural Reserve of Berignone and land in Cecina, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
Day 7 Saturday 15 October (70km / 556 hm)
We follow the Mediterranean on our way to Pisa. The last cycling day is calm and without massive climbs, our legs are probably grateful for that. We pack our bikes and rest one last night in Pisa, before flying back home.
Sunday 16 October
Home journey, transfer to the airport in Pisa.

Tenps and advice on what should come with it.
Gear: Gravel or MTB. Tubeless is recommended of course, as well as a good kit on the bike, Click here for a list. Foot pump and tools are included in the car. Clothing is the norm for Swedish summer, with a vest/sleeves or windbreaker as a spare and when driving downhill if it gets cold. We will have coffee and lunch, but a little extra energy is never wrong. Some of the hotels will have the possibility to wash clothes.
Routes: All routes will be shared some time before departure and will also be downloadable on site.
