It is the largest of the islands in the Balearic Islands group which is located in the western part of the Mediterranean Sea and belongs to Spain. The other islands in the group are Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. Mallorca is slightly larger than Gotland and is approximately 10 x 8 miles.

The majority of the island's population, about 70 % live on tourism, about 20 % on agriculture and the rest on industry, which mostly deals with glass, ceramics and furniture.

Mallorca is one of Europe's most popular travel destinations and more than 10 times as many tourists as residents are on the island each year. Visitors come from all over the world but of course mainly from Europe. The large groups of tourists come from Germany, England and Scandinavia as well as from the mainland from where many Spaniards also like to visit Mallorca.

In addition to cycling, there is much to discover. A trip down to Palma, which is a lively town with a fantastic promenade that's great for some quiet cafe cycling.
MA-10, is a road that winds around the mountains, is a thing not to be missed, why not rent a car and explore it on the violet day.
