INZAIN Cycling Adventures

Grusets Vänner ran a repeat of Solstice from 2020. Start in Ösmo, gravel down to Torö, for sunset and a coffee. Then up to Gålö Havsbad for sunrise.

Cycling on the shortest night of the year, with good friends, animal smells and all the impressions is something I think is fantastic. Already within 30 minutes we encountered a family of wild boar, an eagle, deer, frogs and more.

The way down continues without any incidents, it rolls along at a fairly good speed and as usual with constant talking and laughing.

Path, dirt road and a bit of asphalt are mixed in a nice way, the sun is going down, life is good.

When we come down to Torö, there is a special place where we get a panorama of the sun's meeting with the sea.

When we have taken part in it, had a lot of coffee and well, the journey towards Gålö and the sunrise begins, it would turn out to have a little more adventure for us...

We roll asphalt for the first mile, quite a good pace, we have dressed for the cold but are soon forced to stop and take off our clothes again.

Soon we reach the darkest hours, streaks of fog draw in, there is a rustle in the bushes and all you can do is enjoy.

After the tour's only climb and a passage with rough blasted rock, I feel the familiar feeling. PUNK. Luckily, I drive with inserts, because there is a big tear in the side of the tire, about 1.5cm. All the air and sealant had gone up immediately and without inserts the tire would probably have calved and I would have been standing on my ears. Now it was just a major repair where Park Tools Trunks came into use before hose was fitted, it's a gold product for large tears. Without it, it easily becomes punk again.

The road up to Tungelsta would, however, offer more, the first came when I accidentally got the metal ring of the valve inside between the hose and tire. The other probably from gravel that I haven't been able to remove. After thorough cleaning, however, the punks were gone. Will get a new tire and fix now.

The ride up to Tungelsta is fantastic, so fun to ride at night, everything looks very different.
