California2024 Cycling

Cycling in Tuscany is beautiful, incredibly beautiful. There are rolling slopes. We have created several routes per day, so that you can choose according to how far and how much altitude you want on the different days. The routes lead us along beautiful roads and we reach restaurants and cafes at a reasonable distance. Most of the time, the routes are created so that you converge for lunch regardless of which route you choose. Our companion car is there if something goes wrong with your bike or yourself, a great security.

Schedule day by day

Saturday 5 October
Arrival Rome. Our comfortable shuttle bus is waiting to take us to the winery near Siena. If you arrange your own flight, please contact us regarding transfers.
Once there, we check in.

Generally

The routes will be challenging and between 6-13 miles long. Several of them are available in different versions, so you can choose according to the type of day. The following car means that we can support if someone has a problem or gets tired. We will give all participants one Rider's Guide, with the routes and lots of information about them well in advance of the trip.

Day 1 Sunday 6 October (65-92 km & 1050-1,700 hm)

North into Chianti, classic white gravel. We cycle part of the Eroica, winding asphalt and exceptionally beautiful. We pass the Chianti sculpture park. There are various reductions you can make. The day has two major climbs, they are on good ground and are smooth and fun.

Day 2 Monday 7 October (55 -115 km, 900-2.2170 hm)

Northwest, on roads there Tuscany Trail goes Many fantastic cities are passed. This is a challenging tour, which can be shortened in several different ways if desired. Some single track but nothing too challenging.

Day 3 Tuesday 8 October (55- 103 km / 760 – 1,836 hm)

We make our way east, beautiful dirt roads in the classic undulating Tuscan landscape. Many opportunities for Gelato and coffee, and good food of course. Here, too, there are a number of cuts if the legs or desire so require.

Day 4 Wednesday 9 October
Rest day!
If you want to cycle, of course it's great, but it turns out to be quite wise to take a rest day. Maybe we take a trip to the sea, visit Siena or hang out at the vineyard and enjoy the tranquility?

Day 5 Thursday 10 October (72 km / 1,200 hm)

The world's best transport cycling! Eroica and Strade Bianchi, incredibly nice. While we get a great day in the saddle, all our luggage is transported down to the next accommodation in San Quirico d'Orcia. If legs or other things are broken, it's fine to go in the car. Once there, we settle in, maybe celebrate with a beer and have dinner.

Day 6 Friday 11 October (57 -96 km / 744 -1860 hm)

The white gravel! We pass many classic resorts, there are many ways to shorten the trip if you want, we use again several stretches from Eroica and Strade Bianchi. Maybe time to set a KOM?

Day 7 Saturday 12 October (67 -92 km / 980 – 1750 hm)

We go south. Forest and open fields are mixed. Several of the routes come from Strade Bianchi. Lunch in Buonconvento.

Day 8 Sunday 13 October (67-124 km 850 -1,840 hm)

We will cycle North towards Siena and return in an easterly loop. More Eroica and Strade Bianchi and a few surprises await.
This is our last cycling day, in the evening we pack our bikes and enjoy life.

Monday 14 October
Bonus day. As the flight leaves in the evening, if you want, you can use the day for extra cycling, or just enjoy the pool and the city.
The bus arrives at 14, so of course bikes and bags must be packed by then.
