Grusets Vänner – First Spring Tour

Inzain 200 Mile Gravel Grinder July 24 in Uppland - Click for more info

Sun, up to 10 degrees? A little wind maybe, no, that doesn't stop anyone. So of course it would be a turn today. Nine happy cyclists gather at Grisslinge for a ride on Wermdö.

There is a GV that is always late or should we say JIT? Today he broke the record with a quarter of an hour late, but we who waited in the sun weren't too sad anyway.

The tour starts up towards Hemmesta, along residential areas and then fine gravel. Cycle paths then lead us towards Fagerdala and so on towards Brevik. It's like the summer of 2020, you know the one where all the adults were on summer vacation, and all we did was play with our friends and ride dirt bikes? The sun is shining, the gravel is almost dusty, the wind at your back and adventure around the knot. That feeling.

Those of you who have cycled with me know my aversion to water, gravel that meanders near water, my favourite. It also usually means that you have to love slopes because lakes and seas are, yes, like at the bottom... Today's tour was no exception, we would pass many lakes and beaches.

After Strömma, we aim to cycle a maximum of 100m on Stavsnäsvägen, so Fågelbro, Vindöbrovägen and some zigzagging lead us to the first hike-a-bike of the day. It's about 800 meters of trail, over some rocks and roots BUT you gain a mile on gravel, so it's worth it.

Stavsnäs Home Bakery

Coffee was to be taken today at Stavsnäs Hembageri, carrot cakes, grilled sandwiches, coffee and drinks sipped lightly in the solar gas. The mood is on top!

After coffee, we take a detour past Vinterhamn and then out over the Djurö bridge, the Motorverkstaden and various detours on dirt roads on Vindö before we finally reach Sollenkroka and the long-distance riders decide to pace themselves again towards Grisslinge and the city. A fantastic day in the saddle with the very best company.

As a bonus, we named yet another gang member, say hello to the Green Hornet, our most prominent elk horn equilibrist.

Thank you for today, to infinity and beyond!
