Japan Accommodation

All our farmers are carefully selected from our local guide. Some are classic Japanese ryokan and some European. Most have the wonderful hot spring bathing facilities called Onsen, otherwise there are these local Onsen near the hotels.

Ryokan

Roykan is the classic lodgings and hotels in Japan. They have the typical soft Tatami mats where you take your shoes off (absolutely no cycling shoes here….:-). Japan can also boast that the world's oldest hotel opened here in 705.

Onsen

An onsen is a hot spring in Japan. The term is often used to describe the bathing facilities belonging to hotels around the hot springs. Since Japan is a country of volcanic activity, there are thousands of onsen all over the country. They were traditionally used as public bathing spots and play a major role in Japan's tourism.
