Ser hur landskapet utanf\u00f6r f\u00f6nstret rusar f\u00f6rbi samtidigt som jag sakta g\u00e5r igenom f\u00f6rberedelserna inf\u00f6r resan\u2026 \u2026rengjort cykeln, k\u00f6pt kedjel\u00e5s, ny kedja,&nbsp; laddat batterier, laddat ner rutter, kopplat samman wattm\u00e4tare och dator igen, samma f\u00f6r pulsm\u00e4taren\u2026 \u2026hmmm, var packade jag ner datorn?&#8230; \u2026funderar febrilt igenom packningen, kl\u00e4derna, verktygen, v\u00e4skorna, cykelv\u00e4skan, men kan f\u00f6r mitt liv inte minnas var jag lagt ned datorn\u2026 \u2026Hel-e! har jag gl\u00f6mt datorn? Jag meddelar g\u00e4nget som \u00e4r p\u00e5 plats att jag g\u00e4rna cyklar till Lucca d\u00e5 jag funnit att det d\u00e4r finns en cykelaff\u00e4r som har Wahoo i sitt sortiment. Ja, jag blev ju d\u00e5 tvungen att k\u00f6pa en ny cykeldator och eftersom Wahoo \u00e4r det b\u00e4sta jag vet var valet ganska sj\u00e4lvklart. Gerry gjorde sitt b\u00e4sta att uppmuntra mig med glada tillrop\u2026 \u2026om alternativa m\u00e4rken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi glider sakta runt p\u00e5 sn\u00e4lla\u2026 \u2026eller snarare mycket sn\u00e4lla grusv\u00e4gar upp till cykel-staden Lucca. Det \u00e4r tydligen flera professionella cykelklubbar som tr\u00e4nar d\u00e4r under sin \u201doff-s\u00e4song\u201d. Lucca \u00e4r en fantastiskt fin liten stad med massor av trevliga fika-hak innanf\u00f6r den stora ringmuren. Gerry hade f\u00f6rberett med en lagom tur ner till havet som erbj\u00f6d en knappa 7 mils runda med endast 110 h\u00f6jdmeter. Det var alldeles lagom f\u00f6r mig f\u00f6r det var n\u00e4mligen n\u00e5t annat jag ocks\u00e5 hade gl\u00f6mt d\u00e4r hemma\u2026 \u2026att tr\u00e4na! -Hade i princip inte r\u00f6rt min cykel sedan i p\u00e5skas, d\u00e5 vi var p\u00e5 Mallis och cyklade. Jag var o\u00e4ndligt tacksam f\u00f6r att kunna mjukstarta p\u00e5 detta vis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det var dock en liten grupp som gav sig p\u00e5 att under sin c.o.r \u00e5ka till Lucca \u201dThe hard way\u201d \u00f6ver berget. I tysthet var jag r\u00e4tt impad av det g\u00e4ngets bedrift och t\u00e4nkte att detta kunde bara sluta p\u00e5 ett s\u00e4tt f\u00f6r mig. Jag skulle drabbas av sv\u00e5ra kramper och bonka p\u00e5 varje delstr\u00e4cka, jag skulle h\u00e4nvisas till skamvr\u00e5n i bussen f\u00f6r att leta efter min f\u00f6rsvunna form\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2026bussen ja, den framf\u00f6rdes under veckan av Terje, C-J\u2019s fantastiska grabb som glatt s\u00e5g till att all bagagehantering, vattendep\u00e5 och energif\u00f6rdelning samt fotografering och dr\u00f6nar-\u201dpilotning\u201d sk\u00f6ttes med bravur. En underbar morgon, sval, vindstilla och tyst. Italienarna sover ut och endast klicket fr\u00e5n v\u00e5ra v\u00e4xlars skiftande och rullande h\u00f6rs. P\u00e5 f\u00f6rd\u00e4mningsvallar l\u00e4ngs floden Arno g\u00e5r f\u00e4rden utan att vi beh\u00f6ver anstr\u00e4nga oss n\u00e4mnv\u00e4rt. Det \u00e4r lite sm\u00e5snack i olika grupperingar och allm\u00e4nt gemytligt medan vi har bergen i bakgrunden \u00e5t norr och sl\u00e4tten p\u00e5 andra sidan, som vallen skall skydda emot ifall det blir \u00f6versv\u00e4mning. Det g\u00e5r l\u00e4tt, det \u00e4r grus blandat med gr\u00e4s. Det b\u00f6rjar bli k\u00e4mpigt f\u00f6r undertecknad. Temperaturen har ocks\u00e5 passerat 25 grader vilket \u00e4r lite ovant f\u00f6r oss. Under de kvarvarande 6 milen kl\u00e4mmer vi in runt 1700 h\u00f6jdmeter, vilket inneb\u00e4r <strong>280 h\u00f6jdmeter per mil<\/strong>, varav avslutningen bjuder p\u00e5 en stigning p\u00e5 c:a 450m.&nbsp; Vi \u00e4r m\u00e5nga som gr\u00e4ver djupt denna f\u00f6rsta dag p\u00e5 rutten, slutligen n\u00e4r m\u00f6rkret b\u00f6rjar falla kommer vi fram till byn Volterra. Vi valde c:a 6 mil asfalt ist\u00e4llet. Vi fick dock via WhatsApp meddelanden om att det varit tuff under den ordinarie rutten. F\u00e4rden hade i b\u00f6rjan en l\u00e5ng kl\u00e4ttring p\u00e5 grus som efter\u00e5t landade i en \u201ddjungel\/regnskog\u201d. Under de sista 3-4 km fick jag och Riggert veckans enda regnskv\u00e4tt p\u00e5 oss, svalkande och sk\u00f6n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dag 3, Tisdag, Siena \u2013 San Quirco d\u2019Orcia, 67km 1150 h\u00f6jdmeter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eftersom m\u00e5nga haft det k\u00e4mpigt med dag 2 ocks\u00e5, kommit fram sent, s\u00e5 kanske man&nbsp; inte hann g\u00e5 runt och se n\u00e5gra sev\u00e4rdheter i Siena. Egentligen \u00e4r avst\u00e5ndet fr\u00e5n Siena till Poggibonsi endast knappa 3 mil, men Gerry hade scoutat fram magnifika v\u00e4gar som erbj\u00f6d b\u00e5de utmaning och njutning. Jag tror kanske att n\u00e5gon b\u00f6rjade k\u00e4nna sig lite matt av dagsprogrammet och valde lite mer asfalt. P\u00e5 distans ser vi n\u00e5gra jobbiga gruskl\u00e4ttringar som hotfullt kommer n\u00e4rmre, men det visar sig att v\u00e4gen sv\u00e4ngde av i sista stund. Terje kom och m\u00f6tte fr\u00e5n andra h\u00e5llet. Terr\u00e4ngen var stundtals s\u00e5 besv\u00e4rlig att han trodde att han \u00e5kte fel. Det blev ett sk\u00f6nt avbrott vid bilen med p\u00e5fyllning av vatten. Vi hade bara en \u201dliten kulle\u201d att passera idag\u2026 m\u00e5nga tr\u00f6tta ben och lite fel p\u00e5 kartmaterialet gjorde att alla backar inte fullt syntes i f\u00f6rv\u00e4g. I en av dessa branta&nbsp; \u201d\u00f6veraskningsbackar\u201d m\u00f6ttes vi av en skock f\u00e5r som blev vallade nerf\u00f6r v\u00e4gen av en man i en Fiat Uno. F\u00e5ren verkade stressade och funderade p\u00e5 om de skulle ge sig ut p\u00e5 \u00e5kern ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r att m\u00f6ta oss p\u00e5 v\u00e4gen. Vi gjorde sn\u00e4llt plats och l\u00e4t b\u00e5de f\u00e5ren och bonden i bilen passera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jag tog n\u00e5gra bilder med min telefon, och h\u00f6ll som b\u00e4st p\u00e5 med att stoppa undan den igen n\u00e4r jag h\u00f6rde Piotr sv\u00e4ra lite l\u00e4ngre fram. Slet av mig hj\u00e4lmen f\u00f6r att f\u00e5 bort bina som stack mig i huvudet. Jag hade lite antihistamin i min akutv\u00e4ska som jag alltid har med mig p\u00e5 mina cykelturer. Stoppade snabbt i mig 2 tabletter och hoppades att jag inte skulle f\u00e5 mer reaktioner \u00e4n de sm\u00e5 svullnader och sm\u00e4rtan jag nu k\u00e4nde.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jag cyklade vidare f\u00f6r att komma till en st\u00f6rre v\u00e4g. T\u00e4nkte att om jag f\u00e5r en st\u00f6rre reaktion \u00e4r det nog b\u00e4ttre att vara p\u00e5 mer trafikerade v\u00e4gar. Jag kom ikapp Riggert och Ricardo efter ett tag. Ricardo k\u00e4nde sig lite krasslig och ville korta av str\u00e4ckan n\u00e5got och \u00e4ven Riggert var tr\u00f6tt p\u00e5 skumpandet s\u00e5 vi best\u00e4mde att vi tar Asfalt den sista biten in mot Pisa. Det passade mig utm\u00e4rkt d\u00e5 jag fortfarande hade rej\u00e4lt ont av sticken. Sedan blev det lite asfaltstempo p\u00e5 3 pers mot det lutande tornet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En of\u00f6rgl\u00f6mlig vecka var till sin \u00e4nda. V\u00e5ra h\u00e4rliga deltagare droppade av mot olika flyg och andra transporter under de kommande dygnen. M\u00e5nga h\u00e4rliga minnen och \u00e4ventyr att minnas. Jag vet att jag missat en massa av dem men och hoppas att n\u00e5got av ovan kanske hj\u00e4lper oss att minnas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En s\u00e4rskild eloge g\u00e5r till Terje som gjorde det hela m\u00f6jligt!!
