VRG XL 3 Days

Escort car.
In it there will be some spare parts, extra tires, pump etc. You can have ONE bag in the car. It will be transported to the hotel, so you don't have to pack the bike if you don't want to.
The following car becomes a rescue car if something goes wrong.
All information about this can be found in the Riders Guide.

Day one

Start in Motala finish in Jönköping 158 km/ 1,711 altitude meters.
The first 50 km are relatively flat, the same cannot be said for what follows.
Some of the slopes are tough but none are impossible. Omberg is a favourite, you get a magnificent view of Lake Vättern. Ödeshög and Gränna are good places for lunch and or coffee, but there are more.

The last miles to Jönköping also have some challenges. Once there, something to eat and drink will probably feel quite good

Day two

Start in Jönköping finish in Karlsborg 140 km/ 1,390 altitude meters
Out of Jönköping, we cycle a bit on asphalt, before the gravel roads take over again.
Even on this day, there are a number of good places to choose from for coffee and lunch.

This is perhaps the kindest day of the three, but we can promise that you will feel your legs when you roll into Karlsborg.

A visit to the fort is popular before showering and dinner.

Day Three
Start in Karlsborg finish in Motala 149 km/1,416 altitude meters.
The route follows Vättern with some technical challenges in some places.
However, it is not something that not everyone can handle, someone may choose to lead the bike for a shorter distance. Askersund is an excellent place for lunch, alternatively the Zink mine.
Bona Trädgård offers a very nice coffee, before the six miles back to Motala.

The absolute toughest hill on the tour is on this day. Save some power for it.

Maybe you take a dip in the lake before you parade into the finish line.
Congratulations on completing VRG-XL 2024!
